ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. My husband will love a Mr Hanky! Thanks for thinking out side the box for something a bit different.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I made this for a friend for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteI had to modify the hat to make it more character specific. Here is what I did. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteStill using the G hook and Red Heart yarn.
Foundation (white): Ch 20, sl st in 1st st, ch 1.
Row 1: sc 20 (starting in loop after your chain 1), sl st in 1st st, ch 1.
Row 2: sc 20, insert hook into 1st st and change colors to red. Ch 1.
Row 3-4: repeat row 1
Row 5: sc 5, sc2tog, sc 4, sc2tog, sc 3, sc2tog, sc 3, sl st in 1st, ch 1.
Row 6: sc 4, sc2tog, sc 4, sc2tog, sc 5, sl st in 1st, ch 1.
Row 7: sc 3, sc2tog, sc 3, sc2tog, sc 3, sc2tog, sc 2, sl st in 1st, ch 1.
Row 8: sc 2, sc2tog, sc 2, sc2tog, sc 2, sc2tog, sc 1, sl st in 1st, ch 1.
Row 9: sc 1, sc2tog, sc 1, sc2tog, sc1, sc2tog, sc 1, sl st in 1st, ch 1.
Row 10+: now sc around without joining until this part of the hat reaches twice the height of the hat.
Attach a small white pompom ( I used the fork method with only 20 loops around). Use red yarn to attach the long part of the hat to just above the white rim.
Can someone tell me how tall the finished project is?
ReplyDeleteIt's about 7" without the hat
DeleteYou have just made my hubby one happy man :)
ReplyDeleteAre Mr. Hanky's arms crocheted, or pipe cleaners?
